THE DAWGS ADVANTAGE

The Okotoks JDawgs were established in 2007 to provide high-level players with the opportunity to realize their dreams of playing baseball at the collegiate or professional level. The JDawgs program was born out of the same vision as was used in creating the Calgary Dawgs youth program back in 1995-2001. Since 1995 over 32 players have been drafted or signed by Major League organizations, many are still playing professionally today. Over 160 Dawgs have played at the collegiate level, with many now embarked in further studies or successful careers. The JDawgs program is extremely proud of the players that have come through the program and excited to provide new players, every year, with the opportunity to go on and become college or professional athletes.

• Regular participation in highly scouted Canadian and American tournaments including the Arizona Fall Showcase and BC's prestigious Parksville Baseball Tournament

• A US JUCO tour provides players maximum exposure to US college programs
• The JDawgs Speed and Strength training program is based on Major League, Team Canada and Collegiate workout programs and is administered by our professional training staff and coaches
• The Duvernay Fieldhouse provides an off-season environment unlike any other in Canada. Our brand new weight room and large field turf infield allows our players to fully engage with our trainers on a daily basis

• The JDawgs partnership with Holy Trinity provides our players with the ability and expectation to excel both in the classroom and on the field
• Holy Trinity Academy has enjoyed a five year ranking in the top 6% of all schools in Alberta
• Dawgs also enjoy an excellent working relationship with Foothills Composite High Schoolin Okotoks as another educational option

Off-Field Mentorship

• JDawg coaches have the knowledge, experience and passion for our players to advise them in their transition to college and/or professional baseball
• JDawg players hae the unique ability to train next to college and professional athletes throughout the year as ex-JDawgs and top college players return to Okotoks to train and play at Seaman Stadium and Duvernay fieldhouse
• JDawg players have access to a family network of Dawg players that have gone on to play college or professional baseball. Beyond simple mentorship, these contacts help when placing players at colleges
