Dawgs 18U Black win the Buckeye Elite

Game 1 vs Tim Lally Baseball

Graham Brunner didn't allow a single hit as Dawgs 18U Black defeated Tim Lally Baseball 7-0 on Friday.

Graham Brunner earned the win for Dawgs - pitching five innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, and striking out four. 

The Dawgs collected nine hits in the victory. Cesar Valero and Tristan Peters each collected multiple hits in the game.

Game 2 vs Olentangy Outlaws

Dawgs 18U Black defeated Olentangy Outlaws 1-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. 

The Dawgs took an early lead in the first inning on a RBI single off the bat of Tristan Peters.

Tyler McWillie earned the win - pitching four innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out 11, and walking one.  Ethan Francis recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Game 3 vs Northeast Twins

An early lead helped Dawgs 18U Black defeat Northeast Twins 8-1 on Saturday. 

The Dawgs secured the victory thanks to five runs in the first inning after scoring on an error, a single by Tristan Peters, a single by Tyler McWillie, a double by Cesar Valero, and a single by Jack Marlin.

Brendan Logan earned the win - pitching five innings, allowing one run, four hits, striking out five, and walking one. 

The Dawgs collected 11 hits, led by Jack Marlin, Clayton Keyes, Danny Donnelly, and Tristan Peters – each collected multiple hits for Dawgs 18U Black.  Tristan Peters and Jack Marlin also collected 2 RBI’s each.

Quarterfinals vs Mash Factory Elite

Dawgs 18U Black defeated Mash factory Elite 8-2 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game.

Clayton Keyes led the Dawgs to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-3 at the plate, driving in runs on a home run in the first and a double in the fifth.

Will Undershute earned the win – pitching five innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, striking out two, and walking zero.

The Dawgs had eight hits in the game.  Gavin Logan, Clayton Keyes, and Greg Student each collected multiple hits.

Semi-finals vs Ohio Elite

Dawgs 18U Black defeated Ohio Elite 10-2 on Sunday thanks in part to Tyler McWillie, who drove in four runs on a single in the first, a home run in the third, and a single in the fifth.

Graham Brunner earned the win – pitching five innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out five.  

Home runs for the Dawgs came when Clayton Keyes and Tyler McWillie homered in the 3rd inning, and Soren Graversen homered in the 4th inning.

Championship vs Pittsburgh Spikes

Dawgs 18U Black defeated Pittsburgh Spikes 7-3 on Sunday to win the Buckeye Elite.

Shaun Atamanchuk earned the win - tossing three innings, giving up one run, two hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Tyler McWillie started the game – pitching four innings, surrendering two runs, two hits, and striking out six.
Dawgs 18U Black had 11 hits in the game.  LaRon Smith, Tucker Zdunich, Danny Donnelly, and Tristan Peters each collected multiple hits.

It was truly a great way to wrap up the season for the Dawgs Academy! Congratulations to all the players and coaches!
